Says this sexy Aussie, "And so it was that Malaysia, and the world, opened up again… and so it is, that Pentago House and after(taste) are right back at it again after two years, bringing the second instalment of The 4SAD Architects Art Exhibition. In 2019 we hosted 4SAD Architects: The First Edition. It was very much a ‘learn as we go experience’, and we were doing something not done by many… to present an art event, not in an art gallery, specifically with art by designers. Despite this new territory, the event was a huge success. People from all walks of life, and all corners of Malaysian society rubbed shoulders and shared in the celebration of art and community. Our opening night was packed, and over the 3 days of the exhibition we sold almost all of the artworks, and countless people attended the show. We couldn’t believe the positive response! We soon realised, it’s not just about the amazing art, or the big names involved…even though those were definitely in abundance, but it was clear there was a genuine craving for such art and cultural events. People love this, yet it seems it’s quite a rarity.


"Above all else, these events are about having fun, and so we are pleased to present again, this Nov 27th -28th 2021, The 4SAD Architects, Part 2!.We have a very special event lined up. Featuring the works of Greg Dall, Chong Chee Ching, Nic Proud, and of course, the highly awarded and revered Hijjas Kasturi. Four creatives, who have spent the good part of their professional lives in the design and architectural fields. Their perspective on art and creativity is unique and considered, and it reflects in their work. A lifetime of observation and perspective, manifested into a compilation of creative expression! On the 27th and 28th Nov Pentago House in Kampung Attap will be open for the public to come and see the work and hear from the artists about their process. We will also host a charity auction of donated artwork by ‘The 4 Saddies’, with all proceeds from that auction going to The Malaysian Red Crescent. The artists are also, over the next few weeks, painting a collaborative wall mural on the side of the Iconic Pentago house for all to see and enjoy, which we hope will bring a splash of colour and enjoyment to the local community there. It’s been a pleasure and an honour to curate, and exhibit this work from Greg, Chong, Nic, and Hijjas and I hope you too will find the work exciting, engaging, and beautiful. We welcome VIPS, guests, friends, art collectors, creatives, and media, to join us in November for this very unique exhibition: The4SAD Architects, Part 2.

The little shrine of Lord Muniswarar was built in 1930 as a makeshift place of worship by the first batch of Tamils who settled in Ampang, now called Bandar Baru Ampang. The original is so small, the size of a room, it could not be called a temple. The descendants of the settlers recently pooled their limited resources to build a proper brick and mortar temple but eventually ran out of funds to complete the structure!
