Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur celebrates the true spirit of the forthcoming festive month before Hari Raya with Sajian Merentasi Zaman (Food Across Generations), offering loved ones the perfect opportunity to come together in gratitude and love. Curated by Malaysia’s favourite culinary celebrity Chef Dato’ Fazley Yaakob, this familial feast will be hosted in the warm and inviting ambience of Curate from April 13 to May 12, 2021.
“With our thoughtful dining experiences and caring service, families can once again share meaningful moments and build new memories together. This year, it is time to reconnect with loved ones and cherish them,” says General Manager Alex Porteous.
A Trip Down Memory Lane
Featuring beloved recipes from Chef Dato’ Fazley’s childhood, Sajian Merentasi Zaman brims with authentic local flavours. The menu introduces young guests to Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage, and recreates long-forgotten dishes to delight parents and grandparents. Inspired by the tastes of nostalgia, the older generation will love sharing stories from their own childhood with the little ones - a beautiful chance for families to connect across age groups and pass on precious memories.
“For me, cooking is an act of love and healing, handed down from generation to generation,” says Chef Dato’ Fazley. “My grandmother was the heart of our home; it was her cooking that brought us together. With Sajian Merentasi Zaman, I want to create that same feeling for other families.”
Discover specialties such as nasi tumpang ayam bakar pasu (flavoured herb rice with charcoal chicken cooked in claypot), puyuh salai and kulit mangga muda bakar (smoked quail with grilled unripe mangoes) and ikan sepat masin masak lemak cili api dengan buah cermai dan pucuk pegaga (fermented freshwater fish in turmeric cream with cermai fruits and pegaga). Live cooking stations light up the main dining hall with festivity, while #FSKLFlavourBomb offer a tantalising burst of tastes and textures. Each family receive a bottle of homemade sambal, compliments of the Chef.“Nothing unites us Malaysians more than hearing ‘makan time’!” smiles Chef Dato’ Fazley. “I’m so thankful that my job allows me to create that wonderful sense of belonging. At our dining table, the joy of family complements every bite.”
