STARTING TO COLLECT WATCHES AND YOU ARE NOT A BILLIONAIRE? READ ON

I always have a problem with the euphemism “entry level”, which sounds to me as if one would have to graduate to the really good ones by first getting something else.
My favourite brands of Swiss watches in the lower price range, which are perfectly fine to have for the rest of your life and do not ask to be replaced by the next level, are Longines and Oris, with a slight bias in favour of Oris. I like both for their nice and appealing models, great price quality ratio, long tradition in watch making, in particular Longines’, and Oris for their single-minded dedication to and believe in mechanical movements.
My next more expensive favourites are Tudor and Omega. I think they are of the same quality as Rolex but aesthetically more appealing to me and significantly less over priced. Omega is attractive also for the co-axial escapement, which should result in longer service intervals and even better longevity.
