ARTIST JANET LEE IS A PERFECTLY IMPERFECT CASE STUDY
Despite these difficulties and challenges, Janet has been empowered by her loved ones and a loving community of followers and friends to venture into a business of her own which is built around the foundation of her joy and love for art. Janet’s optimism spreads into a cheery declaration that “being normal is boring” and that she is made “perfectly imperfect”. The Janet Lee brand is built around the ideas, beliefs, and concepts of Gratitude, Positivity, and Empowerment and her business gives value through these ideas made manifest.
Art and craft was an opportunity for Janet to expand upon her God-given abilities which were revealed in the year 2010 when she began art classes. Through abstract art painting using the acrylic medium, Janet began honing her budding talent through passion, dedication, and repetition.
Janet’s
paintings have been featured in a handful of art exhibitions and collaborative
ventures, allowing her to build a following among the communities that she
interacts with. Her works have been showcased in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore,
Shenzhen in China, Seoul in Korea, and the U.S. With creative collaborative
partnerships, Janet’s art has also found itself beyond the canvas on bespoke
fashion and a variety of charming merchandise and premium gifts.
Janet Lee’s sometimes erratic but amusingly delightful artistic impressions translate into original paintings that are often informally categorised in “themes” which represents that which is interpreted by her family members and friends. Themes such as Blossom, Vista, Dreams, Erratic, and Cheer are Janet’s paintings expressed through brushstrokes, colours, and her vivid mind across various ideas, inspirations, objects, settings, and even moods.
For
example, Blossom appropriately picture flowers or flora, while Dreams are interpreted
keenly complex or simplistic and may evoke thoughts. With more than 100 canvas
paintings, Janet has a painting that reflects, relates, and resonates with
someone in some special way.
On
November 2020, Janet Lee reached an important milestone in her life with the official
launch of her art and craft gallery. Located in Cheras Business Center at Kuala
Lumpur, the Janet Lee Gallery represents a vista and space for the display and
promotion of her paintings and unique works. Also showcased is Janet’s Art
Beyond the Canvas – her promotional and collaborative projects and merchandise
which consist of canvas prints, bespoke fashion, premium gifts, and novelty
items.
Janet
is continuously working towards being a source of hope, inspiration,
and empowerment for the differently-abled community. As a beacon of
greater awakening of our current state of being, Janet Lee is an example that
