DUAL AWARDS FOR H. MOSER & CIE. AT THE GRAND PRIX D’HORLOGERIE DE GENÈVE 2020 |
Neuhausen am Rheinfall, November 13th, 2020 |
Eagerly awaited by watchmaking enthusiasts as well as industry professionals every year, the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) is an ode to creativity that awards timepieces appointed by an esteemed jury across fourteen categories. With two pre-selected creations, H. Moser & Cie. was particularly honored, receiving the prize for Best Chronograph for its Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic as well as the Audacity Prize for its Endeavour Cylindrical Tourbillon H. Moser X MB&F model. |
On November 12th in Geneva, the GPHG award ceremony was held at its customary venue of Théâtre du Léman. H. Moser & Cie. distinguished itself by winning two awards. Its Streamliner chronograph, a major new release for 2020 that breaks away from all codes, was named winner of the Chronograph category. STREAMLINER CHRONOGRAPH Its cushion-shaped steel case, its perfectly integrated bracelet, its high-flying movement, as well as its minimalist design, left no one indifferent. Synonymous with fluidity, geometric curves and dynamic shapes, the Streamliner collection reinvents the rules to better highlight them. The first integrated and automatic chronograph with central display offering the flyback function, the Streamliner has a singular personality; a decidedly different aesthetic and yet totally Moser. AUDACIOUS! The Audacity Prize was awarded to the Endeavour Cylindrical Tourbillon H. Moser X MB&F, whose genesis and spirit won over the members of the jury, who were particularly inspired by the collaborative aspect of this project. The result of a partnership with fellow independent brand MB&F, the Endeavour Cylindrical Tourbillon reinterprets certain elements borrowed from the world of MB&F, such as the three-dimensional construction of the movements as well as the dial inclined at 40° under a sapphire dome, in a Moser context, dramatically emphasizing the one-minute flying tourbillon fitted with a cylindrical hairspring designed by H. Moser & Cie.'s sister company, Precision Engineering AG. EDOUARD MEYLAN HOLDING THE 2 COVETED TROPHIES Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie., was honored to receive these two awards: “We are a small team and we all work tirelessly. This victory is a victory for all of us, and it shows that we are on the right track. It is the recognition of our almost 200-year-old know-how, of uncompromising mechanical watchmaking and of the power of classicism approached in an offbeat and sexy way. This is also a great reward for independent watchmaking, with which I would like to thank the Wiederrecht family and AGENHOR, at the origin of the Streamliner’s exceptional chronograph movement. I would also like to thank Max Büsser and the entire MB&F team for their involvement and the positive energy they poured into the project. Throughout our collaboration, the process has been enriching and humanly extremely rewarding. The Streamliner and the Endeavour Cylindrical Tourbillon are two immense successes, which far exceeded our expectations – especially during such a complicated period, marking an additional stage in the development of the Moser brand and setting a very positive outlook for the future”. |
