Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur is delighted to be verified by internationally recognized independent assessor Lloyds Register for its implementation of additional stringent protocols to further safeguard the comfort, health and safety of guests and employees.
This certification is in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic which is a best practice by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as part of its ‘We Care’ programme. Lloyds Register audits theGroup’s rigorous Fire, Life, Health, Safety & Security standards on an annual basis and haveverified the new additional methods in place for Mandarin Oriental hotels.
In every department, there are detailed operating procedures, manuals and training programmes that are adapted and implemented according to the needs of each individual location.
Some of the new initiatives that have been introduced include the following:
• Enhanced health and safety training measures have been put in place for all colleagues, who are equipped with additional ‘We Care’ health & hygiene protocols, such as the correct procedures for wearing PPE equipment, social distancing awareness and case notification protocols
• Prior to arrival, guests will be offered a consultation in advance to discuss personal preferences on service, and cleaning levels and interaction with colleagues
• Upon request, guests will be given a Mandarin Oriental branded Care Kit with face mask, glove, disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer gel
• Significant increases in regular disinfection is conducted across all hotel public areas, guestrooms, spa, wellness and dining facilities
• Guest room bedding and linens are washed daily at sufficiently high temperatures to ensure sterilization
• Appropriate social distancing measures throughout the hotel to ensure alignment withlocal requirements
• Increased use of anti-viral disinfection measures focusing on frequently used elements such as door handles and lift buttons
Group and Meeting bookings will also receive a warm and comfortable Welcome Experienceat check-in with exclusive, sanitised areas set aside to ensure a fast track arrival for attendees,with appropriate social distancing measures in place. Social distancing measures and thorough disinfection protocols are implemented at every meeting venue.

• Temperature checks for all meeting attendees and employees
• Digital health declaration form for all guests and employees to complete
• Hand sanitizer gels are provided throughout the hotel
